Bilgola Beach and Bilgola Plateau are tucked away at either side of the famous ‘Bilgola Bends’ on Barrenjoey Road. The Beach is just 500 metres long and its position between Newport and Avalon makes you feel a world away. Plus, it has a Surf Life Saving Club and Olympic Ocean Pool. Up the hill on the Plateau, you’ll find residential housing, a great Public School, shops and cafes.
This is a small, family friendly neighbourhood just 33km from Sydney CBD. Similar to Newport, Avalon, Clareville, Whale Beach and Palm Beach you’ll find a mix of original and renovated weatherboard homes, architectural gems, mid-century and split level houses oriented towards the beautiful views of Pittwater on one side, or the Pacific Ocean on the other.
Schools are most commonly reached by bus or car. Many independent private schools on the Northern Beaches and Upper North Shore provide door-to-door bus services to students with bus stops near Bilgola as they continue as far up as the Hitchcock Park Parking Area on Barrenjoey Road near Avalon, Whale and Palm Beach.

To the CBD: Take the B1 Bus from Mona Vale to Wynyard.
Around the Northern Beaches: The 199 Bus travels north and south between Palm Beach and Manly regularly. The pick up point is at Newport Surf Lifesaver’s Club, about 1.9km walk from Bilgola Plateau. Ferries to the city from Manly leave through out the day.
Bilgola has main arterial roads connecting it along the coastline via Pittwater Road and Mona Vale Road. The “Bilgola bends” starts on Barrenjoey Road and takes you to The Serpentine, the street leading down to Bilgola Beach.
